Wellness on Wheels through OhioHealth will begin providing Prenatal/Women’s health and Primary care to the Linden area beginning 5/26/2021. The newly built mobile unit has two full service exam rooms and the capabilities to provide prenatal care, primary care, ultrasound lab services as other wellness services. The hours for the clinic will be 8 am to noon every Wednesday. The clinic will be staffed with a Provider, Nurse, Medical Assistant, Social worker and Community Health worker. Wellness on Wheels will serve as a connection point for patients who are seeking services to address various social determinants of health, such as education, food, housing, and transportation, dental care pediatric care, abuse, mental health and much more. The community health worker and social worker will provide community linkage and service to the patients. Residents may call 614-566-9989 to schedule an appointment. When you hear the recording press option 1 and the registration person will schedule the appointment. If she is away from the phone leave a message, with your name and phone number and she will return the call. If a patient does not have insurance they can still be seen. The community health worker will work with them to assist in gaining insurance. In the event that is not possible they still will be able to receive services. Blueprint rain garden construction has started in North Linden. Preliminary construction has included waterline upgrades, gas line relocations, and some tree removals. Some crews have already started building rain gardens, and this will continue through the summer. Remember – reach out to us if you have any issues or questions! 614-645-1253.
We are also wrapping up design in the North Linden – Hudson-McGuffey project area (west of Cleveland, between Hudson and Weber). The Blueprint team will be out on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning marking rain garden locations and soliciting community input on the plants and designs you want to see in your neighborhood. We hope you will come out and chat with us!

Andrea Russell joined the North Linden Area Commission on January 1, 2020. Being Jamaican American, Commissioner Russell was born in Nigeria, while her father was teaching at the University of Ife; there on assignment for the Jamaican government. Having lived in Tanzania and Kenya, Commissioner Russell also traveled through Europe with her family, as a child, due to her father’s diplomatic work with the US and the Jamaican governments. A graduate of Rift Valley Academy, in Kijabe, Kenya, and East Carolina University, Commissioner Russell received her high school diploma and two degrees: BFA and MAEd in Art Education. She specialized in the areas of Art Education and Ceramics with a minor in Communication Arts/Graphic Design. Later, Commissioner Russell attended The Ohio State University, where she taught computer graphics at Hopkins Hall and evaluated student teachers. Her studies included: Art Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Development and Assessment. She also worked as an Art Educator for Columbus City Schools. There, Commissioner Russell wrote the Computer Graphics Curriculum for CCS that was approved by the CCS District School Board to offer art as a technology credit. Commissioner Russell has taught grades preK, K-12 Art, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for both East Carolina University and The Ohio State University. Hearing the call of God, Commissioner Russell ended a fifteen-year career teaching Art to start Jar Graphic Design. Since 2002, Commissioner Russell has owned and operated her company. Commissioner Russell’s mission has been to help others in need. That’s why she has found serving on the North Linden Area Commission so rewarding.
Commissioner Russell also serves as the Education Subcommittee, Job Creation and Workforce Development Chairs. The subcommittee will meet the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM. Please contact Commissioner Russell at 614.537.3165 or russellnlac@yahoo.com to learn more .
